Dinorock: Interactive Musical Puppet Theatre
Marvelous original music and colorful puppetry animate the world of science through the one subject that ignites everyone’s imagination: dinosaurs! Award-winning artists Ingrid Crepeau and Michele Valeri present interactive programs children will long remember. Dinosaur Babies playfully explores human and dinosaur babies’ similarities and environmental effects on dinosaur adaptability. Seven exceptional creatures in the Dinosaur Book of World Records inspire children to create their own record books, and Mi Casa Es Su Casa introduces our Latin American neighbors through bilingual songs, Latin rhythms and travel stories.
Everyone enjoyed the music and there was a lot of audience participation. Very education, funny, and a ton of fun!”

Great performance! They had the kids laughing and singing right from the start — audience participation included singing, learning some Spanish, and playing musical instrument.

Combining original music with colorful puppets – rod, hand, full body and marionette – to animate the world of science, Emmy Award-winning designer Ingrid Crepeau and ALA Award-winner Michele Valeri produce paleontological poetry through interactive musical programs. In keeping with current discoveries, Dinorock’s dinosaur shows have been reviewed for accuracy by the head of education at the Boston Science Museum. Their “Mi Casa Es Su Casa” program is based on Michele Valeri’s travels as a performer for the United States Information Agency. Founded by Parent’s Choice Magazine and ALA Award-winner Michele Valeri, Emmy Award-winning designer Ingrid Crepeau and Mike Stein in 1984, Dinorock’s shows have all premiered at the Smithsonian’s Discovery Theater. Their newest CD, Dreamosaurus, won the Parent’s Choice Award and was a GRAMMY nominee in 1999.

Created for school venues, this show explores characteristics that human babies and dinosaur babies share, using award winning music and dynamic puppetry. Interpreting fossil finds, scientists have come to understand much of dinosaur social behavior. These findings are presented to the children through original songs and interaction with characters like Crash-Boom-Bam-Sam the baby Triceratops, Q. E. the Quetzalcoatlus Kid, Doris the toddler Stegosaurus, Mama Maiasaura and, of course, Baby Rex.
Dinosaur Book of World Records
Meet nature’s own record holding monsters! As the Dinorockers select 8 exceptional creatures from the Mesozoic Era, they emphasize the two themes of the show; that dinosaur science is changing rapidly; and so, records made today may be broken tomorrow. Every extreme prehistoric creature has its own song. This show is all about exploration and discovery, which are two cornerstones of all the sciences.
Sail with Captain Jack, Sparetire, Flotsam, Jetsam, and the rest of the Junkyard Pirates – puppets made from repurposed materials – as they embark on a hilarious musical adventure. This program emphasizes the importance of recycling and protecting the environment as the Junkyard Pirates battle the evil villain, Landfill.
