Last weekend on NPR’s “All Things Considered,” GRAMMY Award winner Dom Flemons was interviewed about his new album, Black Cowboys:

“Flemons presents a new image of the American cowboy – one that isn’t exclusively white… Many songs will be new to most listeners, but a handful, like Flemon’s rendition of ‘Home on the Range,’ are instantly recognizable.”

Black Cowboys has been nominated for a 2019 GRAMMY Award for Best Folk Album and for Best Acoustic Album at the 40th Blues Music Awards. Dom has been nominated for Artist of the Year at the International Folk Music Awards and for two EMMYs – Songwriter and Producer of Songcraft Presents: Dom Flemons on PBS.

A national touring artist and the Inaugural Artist in Residence for the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, Dom joined the Artivate roster for the 2018-2019 season. Listen to the interview with this talented musician and scholar at WAMU.
