To all Friends of Artivate,
It was just a little more than seven years ago, that I was given the privilege of being the Executive Director of Artivate. What an adventure it has been, all the while knowing the joy and wonder that I had a small part in creating connections in communities through the brilliant work of the Artivate artists. I have decided that after seven years, it is time for me to seek new personal and professional opportunities. I am resigning the position of Executive Director effective September 27. In parting I leave behind an amazing staff whose shared knowledge, wisdom and commitment have been and will continue to be the driving force of Artivate. I also want to express my sincerest gratitude to the Artivate Board of Directors who have become the champions of our mission that any executive would hope to see.
My belief in Artivate’s mission and its artists remains unabated and I hope to see you in the future at Artivate’s and other community arts performances and events.
With best wishes for a bright future,

From the Artivate Board of Directors:
We will miss Jim Modrick, and offer heartfelt thanks for his leadership of Class Acts Arts / Artivate over the past seven years, with best wishes for his next adventure. Jim has helped ensure that Artivate has continued into its third decade the critical work of changing lives in communities through the arts!
Meanwhile, Artivate’s staff is busy scheduling and showcasing with the start of the new school year, and our artists’ programs in schools, correctional facilities and other community venues continue as always under the supervision of Directors Diana Schenck and Claire Schwadron. We hope to see many of you (and have a chance to toast Jim) at our Celebrate Artivate! fall fundraising party on Friday evening, October 25 at VisArts in Rockville. Tickets are on sale now at CelebrateArtivate2019.eventbrite.com. If you cannot attend, please consider showing your support by making a tax-deductible donation to our Artivate v3 campaign at www.goartivate.org/donatenow/.
Thank you all for your continuing support, and thank you, Jim for your unflagging dedication to Artivate’s mission.
