FREE Introductory Drumming Workshops with Performing Arts Center for African Cultures at Artivate

Join the Performing Arts Center for African Cultures at Artivate for free introductory drumming workshops for children of all ages.

Starting Sunday, July 8th and each Sunday throughout the summer, join Kwame Ansah-Brew from the Performing Arts Center for African Cultures (PACAC) in the Artivate gathering space at 3:00pm for an interactive and authentic West African drumming experience! Drumming workshops will last about 50 minutes – and participation is FREE!

PACAC is a Laurel-based nonprofit organization that promotes a better understanding of the various African cultures in a fun and interesting learning environment. The Center focuses on authentic African music, rhythms and dances of antiquity, as well as storytelling. They showcase a wide array of indigenous musical instruments and the colorful traditional outfits necessary for a better understanding and proper appreciation.

Artivate is located at the corner of Fidler Lane and Ramsey Avenue, one block off Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road.
