As we reflect on the past and embark on a path of renewal, breathing life into our connections with the community, we remain intently focused on our mission to engage communities to create interactive arts experiences that inspire learning.
WHAT IS IT THE ARTS IN EDUCATION FUND?
Artivate is establishing an Arts in Education (AiE) fund to help reduce the cost of programming in communities by Artivate’s 25+ professional teaching artists. Support will be offered to presenters in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and northern Virginia.
WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THE FUND?
Starting in Winter/Spring 2023, we hope to begin offering subsidies to cover 25% of artist fees for programming to public, private, and independent schools, preschool through grade 12, in the region, eventually expanding to include a broader array of community sites, including libraries, after the first year.
As we grow the fund and establish a consistent level of support, our goal is to offer up to 33% subsidization of program fees, with a cap of up to three engagements per year.
5th Graders at Rock Creek Forest Elementary School created a mural focusing on the themes of resilience and perseverance during a one-day residency with multi-media artist Arturo Ho.
