We bring the Arts to people where they are. Artivate envisions a community where the transformational power of the Arts is an essential element of everyday life. We engage communities throughout Maryland, DC and northern Virginia to create interactive arts experiences that inspire learning. Our programs offer arts-based learning that invites and motivates participation through performances, workshops and residencies across a wide range of artistic disciplines and cultural traditions.
Artivate is funded in part by an operating grant from the Maryland State Arts Council, an agency dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive; by funding from the Montgomery County Government and the Arts & Humanities Council of Montgomery County; and by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
October is National Arts & Humanities Month, launched more than 30 years ago by Americans for the Arts.
“The arts and humanities have played a critically important role in getting us through the COVID-19 pandemic and in amplifying the need for racial equity across the country. National Arts & Humanities Month is the time for communities to come together in unified celebration of the power of the arts to make a difference and change our lives for the better.”
We’re excited to brainstorm with you, to find an artist and program that best suits your needs while helping to navigate expectations, objectives, logistical challenges, and scheduling concerns. We can guide you to artists who can customize a performance or workshop that will enhance teachers’ curriculum, promote cultural learning, or provide something for families to enjoy together.
