Making Art With Project Youth ArtReach at Julie Mack’s House

  • February 21, 2018

On Sunday, March 4th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, Artivate’s Board President, Julie Mack and her husband Joe Titlebaum with host an afternoon of art-making and inspiration, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, with Artivate’s Project Youth ArtReach Director Claire Schwadron and Master Artist Carien Quiroga. Learn about the arts outreach and engagement that regional non-profit Artivate has been doing in our communities for more than 20 years.

Project Youth ArtReach (PYA) focuses on youth and adults involved in the criminal justice system, with most programs taking place inside correctional facilities. Guided by a diverse group of professional artists, participants acquire skills and develop social and cultural competency through lessons in tolerance, team work and problem solving. Claire and Carien are nationally recognized experts in this critical work.

On Sunday afternoon, at Julie and Joe’s home in Bethesda, MD, you will engage in hands-on art-making and reflection, following the same steps used inside correctional facilities as you learn about this valuable program. Purchase your tickets here for $50 per attendee or, if you cannot attend, consider making a donation to support PYA using the ‘Donate’ button at the bottom of the ticket page. All proceeds facilitate additional programming for court-involved and incarcerated youth and adults in the region.
