This page will be updated with new funding opportunities as they become available.

Artivate occasionally has funds available to help bring high-quality arts programming to underserved communities in Maryland, Washington, DC, and northern Virginia. These funds can help make programs possible when they would otherwise not be able to occur. Funds may be provided on a matching funds basis, or as a reduction in program-related fees.

What organizations are eligible to participate?

Funding generally supports underserved communities. Recipients typically include schools, after-school programs, summer programs, libraries, and other community groups in Maryland, Washington, DC, and northern Virginia. Eligibility is often determined by the school FARMS (Free and Reduced-Price Meals) rated or status as a Title I school. Eligibility for libraries and community groups may be determined by the demographics of the surrounding community, based on the most recent U.S Census data.

Specific guidelines for eligibility will be published as each opportunity becomes available.

What costs are covered?

For organizations that are eligible, funding generally covers a portion of the cost of performances, workshops, or residencies led by Artivate artists, including program fees and materials fees. Additional fees, including travel fees, equipment cartage fees, and administrative fees, are generally not covered.
